P062 Agreement between arterial and capillary CO2 level in patients undergoing sleep study for suspected hypoventilation

چکیده

Abstract Background Measurement of arterial CO2 (PaCO2) is the gold standard for diagnosis sleep hypoventilation during polysomnography. However, PaCO2 measurement a labour-intensive and painful. Previous audit in our unit demonstrated ABGs are often delayed or omitted when requested. Continuous monitoring transcutaneous carbon dioxide (TcCO2) used as surrogate marker PaCO2, however caution should be applied interpreting TcCO2 due to “sensor drift” phenomenon. Arterialized capillary blood gas (CBG) has been described various settings many respiratory units. Concordance with ABG TcCO2, however, poorly literature. A retrospective review was performed assess concordance arterialized level (PcCO2) measured routine Methods This patients provisional sleep-related syndrome who attended Sunshine Coast University Hospital Sleep Disorders Centre overnight studies. monitored PcCO2 at outset completion study. results will compared concordance. Assessment of the agreement between photoplethysmographic and arterial waveform respiratory variation in patients undergoing spine surgery.

Respiratory variation in the arterial blood pressure and photoplethysmographic (PPG) waveforms have both been shown to predict the haemodynamic response to volume administration. Whether or not the two can be considered interchangeable is controversial. Twenty-three patients undergoing spine surgery received both a 20 gauge intra-arterial catheter and a Masimo adult adhesive SpHb sensor connect...

Prevalence of carotid arterial diseases in patients undergoing CABG operations

Introduction: Prevalence of stroke following coronary artery bypass graft surgery (CABG) is % 2.1-5.2 and associated with high mortality. The purpose of this study was to investigate the prevalence of carotid artery disease in patients undergoing CABG surgery.  Methods: This cross-sectional study was performed in the years 2010-2011 on 192 patients who underwent open heart surgery (CABG) in...

Chronic hypoventilation syndromes and sleep-related hypoventilation.

Chronic hypoventilation affects patients with disorders on any level of the respiratory system. The generation of respiratory impulses can be impaired in congenital disorders, such as central congenital alveolar hypoventilation, in alterations of the brain stem or complex diseases like obesity hypoventilation. The translation of the impulses via spinal cord and nerves to the respiratory muscles...

Level of agreement between Nexfin non-invasive arterial pressure with invasive arterial pressure measurements in children.

BACKGROUND We compared Nexfin non-invasive arterial pressure measurements using a novel small finger cuff with intra-arterial pressure in the paediatric setting in order to establish the level of agreement between both methods. METHODS The study included 41 children aged 2-16 yr admitted for surgery or paediatric intensive care with an intra-arterial catheter as part of standard monitoring. V...
